The Up North Cork Dorks are an alternate persona of the Traverse City Pit Spitters. A Cork Dork is an affectionate term for a wine enthusiast, and the Pit Spitters have adopted the name as a salute to the more than 40 great wineries along Michigan’s Wine Coast. The Pit Spitters have changed their name and logo to the Up North Cork Dorks for one game each season since 2022; this season the team will play as the Cork Dorks on Friday, June 21, 2024.
